In 2055, social networks and humanity’s weaknesses are the Sentinels’ preferred tools. The aliens have been observing Earth for a century to suppress human technological advancements or emerging neurodivergence that would violate galactic laws.

Ostracized from society, physicist Scott Anderson breaks the Sentinels’ rules. Scott captures primordial black holes, which are the size of protons but contain the mass of mountains and a million megatons of potential energy. These tiny black holes could power human interstellar travel and planet-killing weaponry—the same physics advancement the Sentinels prohibit. Scott is torn between scientific ambitions and protecting his nine-year-old autistic brother, Robby, who carries a rare genetic trait outlawed by the Sentinels.

The Sentinels would subjugate the human race and destroy those that defy them.

Scott Anderson dares to fight the aliens using the power of black holes.

Tyrants of Gravity

Alien attacks on Earth have failed, defeated by human advances in physics and telepathy. But a Centauri fleet near the Sol system reacts with fury, determined to find out why a routine Sentinel Suppression mission failed, and capture and eviscerate the captain who betrayed them.

Two autistic boys, Robby and Luca, search for their lost parents—lost in the dystopia created by the alien attacks. But the rogue alien captain, Cap, is thrilled by the emergence of the boys’ telepathy mutation and helps them in their quest.

Scott Anderson, Robby’s physicist brother, joins the Space Force weapons development team to defend against the approaching alien fleet. But man’s technology that harnesses the energy of primordial black holes is primitive compared to the Centauri fleet’s weapons.

Centauri warships launch kinetic energy projectiles and planet killers, forcing a frantic search for weapons to defend Earth. Scott’s and Robby’s telepathic collaboration with the alien captain is the key to devising weapons effective against the Centauris—the only hope for man’s survival.

BIO

Award-winning author JH Gruger writes Hard Science Fiction that leans hard into science facts—hopefully making it difficult for the reader to spot the occasional magic.

The Sentinel Suppressions is JH Gruger's debut science fiction novel series. The first two books, Gravity of Sol-3 and Tyrants of Gravity, are available on most online bookstores. JH holds engineering degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Southern Methodist University, has several decades of experience in computer architecture and design, and has managed international engineering teams across North America, Asia, and Europe. Early in his career, he designed and architected military electronics systems, including infrared image target-tracking systems for the F-18, the F-117 stealth fighter, and the first prototype seeker for the Javelin anti-tank missile.

After raising a family in Austin and Dallas, Gruger left behind a career in computer engineering to devote himself to writing science fiction and traveling with his wife and family between Dallas and Santa Fe, accompanied by two telepathic Italian Greyhound therapists.
